Outta the Box Studios (OTB Studios) was started by two childhood friends of 12+ years who both have a love for computers. Even though each of them have different passions for computers, Joe with Graphic Design and Vinny with Web Application Programming, they work together to create quality websites for their clients. The company was started one day when we were both working on websites as outside work, then we thought, "we should do this together and make better websites." That’s when we sat up for hours on end one night thinking of names. After hours of thinking of every name we could I said, "Come on Joe, We need to think outside the box", and that’s when it hit us. OTB Studios! We both thought it was a great idea.

I started with web design when I was 14 years old. I didn't even own a computer, I would go to the public library and research HTML and use their computers to practice. After 6 months of that I convinced my parents to buy me a computer, it’s was a Celeron 466mhz with 128MB and a 20Gig hard drive, I would stay up all night just coding away. I made very basic sites with very minimal graphics since I had no graphic editor except MS Paint. I slowly got my hands on a couple of better applications, Photoshop and Dreamweaver, and was able to move up in the website world. Soon after that I wanted to learn how to make dynamic sites, I hated having to add pages to blogs and edit HTML files. I then moved into the world of PHP. First starting out in flat file coding I made basic blogs and "shoutboxs" for my site. No real user interfaces since it was only for me. Then after that I helped someone try to start a web development forum website so I had to learn to make user-friendly CMS systems. That’s when I learned MySQL databases, because the site was going to be too big for flat files. After that I just kept learning more and more. I landed a job as a one man web design/development team for a small computer company when I was 19 years old. That job helped me grow even more in both my design and in programming aspect of the field.

I'm currently attending C.W.Post College and I am majoring in Computer Graphics. I started college right after high school.  When I entered C.W.Post I originally planned on becoming a computer programmer.  During this time computers were really big and I loved computers, so I really wanted to get into that field. After 2 years of college went by I took a course in Quark, which is a program for layouts for print work. After taking that course it just gave me a new found joy for computers, so I changed my major over to Computer Graphics. During my later years of college I have learn how to use a vast amount of designing programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, Final Cut, and Dreamweaver.  Now in my final year of College I’m learning a 3d graphic design program called Maya and I’m also learning how to us Adobe After Effects and Flash. So I have some decent knowledge in both print and multimedia design.  This also helped me to build up my strength in use the Mac OSX operating system since originally I was mainly only a Windows person. When I started to really get into web design Vinny and I felt that we both had a great amount of skills to be able to put together a really nice website. So we decided to work together as a team to make our own freelancing business. I plan on learning as much as I can in graphic design to help improve myself.
